Reports

Ask for a report. It arrives written.

Live, click to interact
  1. Ask for it in a sentence.

Say what it should cover and who reads it. Mira looks through your tables, writes it, and opens it beside the dashboard.

  2. It reads like a colleague wrote it.

A cover, a contents page, numbered sections with tables and figures, the findings and risks set apart, and what to do at the end.

  3. Every figure is the dashboard's chart.

A figure is one of the session's charts as it was when the report was written. When the chart moves on, the figure says so.

    See how dashboards work
  4. Update it. The old one stays.

One click writes it again on today's numbers, as a new run. The earlier ones stay, grouped beneath it.

  5. Make it yours.

Your logo on the cover and your organisation's colours through the pages, or a different picture for this report alone.

  6. Send it as Word.

Export gives you a Word file: the cover, the headings, the tables, and the figures as pictures sharp enough to print.

1. Summary

The wholesale book took £103K in the week ending 13 September, 2.8% below the week before and 6.2% ahead of the same week last year. Orders were 311, so the average order rose to £331 as the autumn range shipped to the larger accounts.

Gross margin was 28.8%, half a point under the quarter's 29.3% average and the third week in a row below it. Thirteen of the 86 accounts are past their payment terms, with £208K outstanding; section 3 names the three that carry most of it.

Revenue has run between £91K and £108K since July. The spike in the week ending 9 August is the nine-day trade promotion Sales ran on last season's Corrie Down Jacket: it lifted orders and cut margin, and the weeks since have settled back to the trend. The week ending 13 September is the second in a row to ease from the 6 September high of £106K.

3. Margin and terms

Margin by account ranges from 24% on the two largest, who buy on volume terms, to 34% on the smaller independents. The book's margin therefore moves with its mix as much as with price: a week in which Northshore and Ridgeline take a larger share reads as a lower margin at the same prices.

Finding
Thirteen of the 86 accounts are past terms, owing £208K. Northshore Outfitters carries £54K of it and is 40 days past its 60-day terms, the fourth order in a row it has paid late. Its spring-range order in the pipeline is £86K.
Risk
Hanoi Textiles is delivering in 41 days against a 21-day plan. On current timings the Merlin Shell allocations for the wholesale accounts land in the second week of December, after the accounts' own Black Friday windows.
4. Recommendations
1
Move Northshore to pro-forma for the spring order. Confirm the £86K order only against payment of the £54K outstanding, and send statements to the other twelve this week, ahead of Finance's month-end run.
2
Air-freight the Merlin Shell units due before 20 November. Roughly £14K of premium against the wholesale share of the £410K of autumn revenue at risk of slipping into December.
3
Hold trade promotions until margin is back above 29%. The August promotion took the week to 22%, and the book has taken five weeks to recover.

Every figure in this review is drawn from wholesale_orders, invoices and retail_partners as they stood on 14 September. Update builds it again on the current tables.
